"Dr Papa is a very compassionate person. I rarely see a doctor who is genually concerned about your well being. He listens without interruptions and explains exactly what is wrong with you in terms you can understand. I have never left an appt without completely understanding my current condition and the treatment being used to help. His office staff is also very helpful. On the few occasions I had a question outside of the office they were prompt to return my call and answer the question at hand. Docs a keeper."
Dimitri Papagiannopoulos MD
Dr. Dimitri Papagiannopoulos is a Board Certified urologist who treats the full spectrum of general urologic conditions, with particular expertise in minimally invasive surgery, complex kidney stone disease, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He is grateful for the trust patients place in him and is committed to providing safe, effective, and individualized care.
Dr. Papagiannopoulos was raised in Naperville, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate education at Northwestern University, graduating with departmental honors. He earned his medical degree from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he graduated near the top of his class. He then completed his urology residency training at Rush University, where he was recognized as Intern of the Year and received an award from Rush Medical College for fostering a positive learning environment for students. During his training, he was actively involved in clinical research and has authored multiple peer reviewed publications, receiving several regional and international research awards.
Following residency, Dr. Papagiannopoulos pursued advanced fellowship training in Endourology and Robotic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego, and Kaiser Permanente. This specialized training focused on minimally invasive surgical techniques and the management of complex kidney stone disease. While minimally invasive surgery and stone disease are areas of special interest, he evaluates and manages all urologic conditions in his clinic.
Dr. Papagiannopoulos combines advanced surgical training with a thoughtful, patient-centered approach. Whether managing a routine concern or a complex condition, he strives to help patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.
He currently lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with his wife and children. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, skiing, and playing basketball.

This intensive year allowed me to sharpen my skills and learn new ones to better serve my patients as safely and efficiently as possible. Although these are areas of particular interest and expertise, I also enjoy practicing general urology, to offer insight and potential treatment into any urologic issue that my patients may have. I am extremely appreciative of the trust that patients place in me as their physician, a privilege that I refuse to take for granted." - Dr. Dimitri Papagiannopoulos
